Panel Discussion on Anti-Defamation League Rescheduled to Nov. 19

The Center for Student Diversity, Equity & Inclusion panel discussion "What's In a Name: When Team Names Are Racist"— scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 18, has been rescheduled to Thursday, Nov. 19, from 12-2 p.m. in room C100.

The change has been made to accommodate the schedule of the speaker, Mark Trachtenberg, J.D., who will be the major presenter at the event.

During the panel discussion, Trachtenberg — a partner in the Haynes Boone Law Firm and a Board Certified Civil Appellate specialist — will discuss the history and mission of the Anti-Defamation League, with special emphasis on the Houston Anti-Defamation League's work in the Houston and southeast Texas regions. A question and answer period will follow.

The event serves as part of National Native American Heritage Month Observances. UHD students, faculty and staff are welcome to attend. Sandwiches will be served.

Contact John Hudson, Ph.D., director of Center for Student Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion; and head coach of UHD Powerlifting.
