O'Kane Theatre Presents Julius Casear Oct. 23-31
The O'Kane Theatre will present William Shakespeare's popular political tragedy "Julius Caesar" as the fall 2015 production.
"There is evidence that this work was among his most popular plays when first presented ca. 1598 and it surely will speak to many today, due to the political climate that dominates our country as we go into an important election year," said O'Kane Theatre Director Thomas Lyttle. "Director Kate Pogue has adapted the script, but the power of Shakespeare still shines through, with its preemptive strikes, treachery, honor, politics, heroism and military honor as a springboard for political tyranny."
After the play's run in UHD's O'Kane Theatre, the cast and crew will take their production to Round Top, Texas, where it will be featured at the International Theatre Forum at Festival Hill, Nov. 4-6.
