Nicholson-Preuss Appointed to Historical Association Board

NicholsonPreussMari L. Nicholson-Preuss, interim director of the University Honors Program, has been appointed to the Board of Directors for the West Texas Historical Association.

The West Texas Historical Association (WTHA) was organized in 1924 at Hardin-Simmons University and in the late 1990s moved its editorial and executive offices to Texas Tech University. Since 1924, the association has held an annual meeting and published the West Texas Yearbook.

Nicholson-Preuss became active in the West Texas Historical Association as a graduate student at Texas Tech University. She received the Excellence in West Texas History Postdoctoral Fellowship in 2010, which was sponsored in part by the WTHA. Her current scholarship explores the experience of healthcare providers and patients on the Southern High Plains in the early twentieth century.
