New Commercial Shows UHD "On The Move"
By Mark Kramer
If you’re flipping through the television channels, you may see the University of Houston-Downtown (UHD) in the spotlight.
UHD’s new commercial, “On the Move to Finish UHD Strong,” showcases a busy day in the life of the university’s diverse group of students involved in a variety of academics, as well as art, theater, club sports and many other student activities – with background music in sync to a progressive beat.
Also featured in the video are UHD theater performers, members of the Women’s Club Soccer Team, the Gator mascot and UHD President, Dr. Juan Sánchez Muñoz.
Produced by the Office of University Relations, this is the fourth commercial created in the past three years for UHD.
“The UHD culture is vibrant and diverse,” said Elisa Olsen, executive director of University Relations. “We wanted to highlight the energy and the dynamic nature of our campus, as well as a balance of academics and student life. We truly wanted to show that UHD is a university on the move.”
The commercial is airing now through March 2020 on 12 stations via Comcast/Xfinity and AT&T U-Verse throughout Greater Houston. In addition, the spot may be viewed on UHD’s YouTube channel.
The University of Houston-Downtown (UHD)—the second largest university in Houston—has served the educational needs of the nation’s fourth-largest city since 1974.
As one of four distinct public universities in the University of Houston System, UHD is a comprehensive four-year university led by President Loren J. Blanchard. Annually, UHD educates more than 15,000 students; boasts more than 60,000 alumni and offers 44 bachelor’s, nine master’s degree programs and 16 fully online programs within five colleges (Marilyn Davies College of Business; Humanities & Social Sciences; Public Service, Sciences & Technology; and University College).
UHD has the most affordable tuition among four-year universities in Houston and one of the lowest in Texas. The University is noted nationally as a Hispanic-Serving Institution, Minority-Serving Institution and Military Friendly School. For more on the University of Houston-Downtown, visit www.uhd.edu.
