Please join me in welcoming Ms. Kim Thomas to the University of Houston-Downtown as our new Vice President for Administration & Finance.
In this position, Ms. Thomas will serve as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Advisor to the President on all matters of finance, resource planning and allocation, campus safety and security, and capital projects. She will lead a number of core business and administrative functions with a team of more than 200 staff members. Ms. Thomas will ensure UHD is a financially stable, technologically enabled, well-maintained, safe, secure, and comfortable place for students, faculty, and staff to learn, teach, and work.

Ms. Thomas previously served as the Associate Vice Chancellor for Finance and Business Services at Purdue University Northwest. Additionally, she worked as the Vice President of Administration and Finance at Governors State University. Ms. Thomas earned a master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of West Florida and a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the University of Maryland.

Ms. Thomas’ vision and commitment to collaborative leadership, along with her service orientation and operational expertise, make her well-equipped to champion UHD in our community and beyond.
