Message from President Loren J. Blanchard: Wishing You Tremendous Success with Final Exams

UHD President Loren Blanchard

Greetings Gators,

I want to take a moment to reflect on the fall semester as it comes to a close. Fall 2021 presented unique obstacles, which you met with determination and dedication. I commend your enduring spirit during this time of UHD’s transition back to on-campus classes and activities.

Entering these last few weeks of the semester means we’ll soon begin final exams. I encourage you to maintain your drive and focus to ensure a strong finish.

As always, UHD will make finals as stress-free as possible. To assist with projects and prepare for exams, I encourage you to use the many academic resources available on campus. The W. I. Dykes Librarycomputer labs and a wealth of Tutoring Resources, including the Writing & Reading CenterCenter for Math & Statistics Support and more, are available to help.

Admittedly, this time of year can be challenging, and we want to safeguard your mental health as well. UHD’s Student Counseling Services are available to address mental health and wellness needs if you would like to speak with someone. Additionally, the Jesse H. Jones Student Life Center is open if exercise will help you to unwind. Further, the Center for Diversity & Inclusion and Student Activities are partnering to offer ZOOM stress-relief opportunities. Let them know if you would like to take part in the upcoming activities, and they’ll coordinate the details.

Finally, for students who are taking your last series of final exams before graduation, I extend my best wishes for all that lies ahead for you. I look forward to congratulating you in person at Commencement on Saturday, Dec. 18, at NRG Arena.

For students who are continuing your academic journey with UHD, I will see you again in January 2022 when classes resume.

During my time with the University, I have witnessed the determination of the Gator Community to succeed, and I know that finals will be yet another time when you rise to the occasion. I am so proud of what we have accomplished together this semester, and I wish you well during exams.

Sincerely,

Loren J. Blanchard, Ph.D.
