Greetings, UHD Community,

Commencement remains a time-honored tradition in academia, and the University of Houston-Downtown understands the significance of this landmark experience. It serves as an indicator of achievement and is a moment that faculty and staff—as well as family and friends—can all celebrate together as UHD students earn diplomas, turn their tassels, and evolve from pupils to alumni.

I am writing today to let you know UHD has selected a date and location for our upcoming 72^nd Commencement Ceremony. We will celebrate the successes of our newest Forever Gators on Sunday, May 15 at NRG Stadium.

The graduation ceremony for the College of Humanities & Social Sciences, College of Sciences & Technology, and College of Public Service is scheduled for 12:30 p.m., followed by the Marilyn Davies College of Business and University College ceremony at 4 p.m.

May 15 will mark the closing of one chapter in our graduating students’ lives, and simultaneously introduce a wealth of opportunities for the many next chapters to come. The UHD Campus Community and I will be at NRG stadium to celebrate the achievements of our Spring 2022 graduating class. And of course to those students receiving their diplomas, I look forward to recognizing each of you in person.
