Mask Dispensers Provide Another Element of Campus Safety

In a continued effort to provide a safe environment at the University of Houston-Downtown, mask dispensers have been set up at all buildings on campus.

“Keeping our campus community safe is a team effort,” said Cynthia Vargas, UHD’s Director of Emergency Management. “UHD has made it a priority to always look for new ways to enhance campus safety.”

The dispensers are located in highly traveled areas on campus and filled with individually wrapped three-ply disposable facemasks. Vargas said the dispensers will be refilled on a regular basis, so that they are always available.

Should the UHD community find that dispensers are running low, Vargas suggests sending an e-mail to uhdcovid19@uhd.edu and they will be filled promptly.

“We are a mask friendly campus,” she said. “Masks aren’t required, but anyone who wants one will be able to find them easily in various locations in our buildings.”
