Mari Nicholson-Preuss Receives Alpha Lambda Delta Executive Director's Outstanding Advisor Award

The national chapter of Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society recently recognized UHD's Mari Nicholson-Preuss as one of the 2015 Executive Director's (ED) Outstanding Advisors. Initiated in 1998, this award is given annually to only five outstanding Alpha Lambda Delta advisors in the nation.

Outgoing Executive Director, Glenda Earwood, named the 2014-2015 ED Advisors of the Year prior to her retirement in July 2015. Nicholson-Pruess was recognized for her commitment and leadership to Alpha Lambda Delta. She has been primary advisor of the UHD chapter since 2013. In 2013-2014, she assisted the chapter in winning the prestigious Order of the Torch award. In 2014-2015, she substantially increased chapter membership by 70 percent, in addition to supporting her students in a year full of activities.

Alpha Lambda Delta is a national society that honors academic excellence during a student's first year in college. Founded at the University of Illinois in 1924, Alpha Lambda Delta has 275 chapters throughout the United States and has initiated more than 980,000 students.
