Ted Sherwin, assistant director of Administrative Services in the UHD W.I.Dykes Library, will retire Friday, Aug. 30 after 29 years at UHD.

Sherwin has served the Library and the University in a variety of capacities, including as interim director of Library Services and has worked in every division of the Library. Currently, and for many years now, he has also served as the librarian for the Department of Urban Education. Sherwin has been an employee of the State of Texas for 42 years.

"Ted is a mainstay of the Library, and we will really miss him," said Pat Ensor, executive director of Library Services. "Thank you, Ted, for all your years of service, and congratulations!"

The Library will hold a recognition event for Sherwin from 2-4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23, in the southeast area of the library on the fifth floor, near the coffee shop.
