Let Your Favorite High School Senior Know: Application Process for ‘Tu Futuro’ Scholarship Underway
By Marie Jacinto
UHD first-year students Ramon Garcia and Emelia Santa Maria know firsthand about the “Tu Futuro” (“Your Future”) scholarship program. At a ceremony last April, they were told they were finalists for the full-ride scholarship. Thinking only one would be selected, they were overwhelmed (and relieved) to discover both were 2023 recipients of the four-year scholarship to attend UHD.
Now Univision Houston, the area’s leading media company regardless of language, and UHD are partnering for the fourth consecutive year to present the Tu Futuro scholarship program. Tu Futuro is open to current high school seniors residing in the Houston area—one local student will be awarded a full scholarship covering the cost of a four-year undergraduate degree at UHD.
Students are encouraged to register and apply before Feb. 25, 2024. The Tu Futuro scholarship winner will be selected in March 2024 and awarded the scholarship in April 2024. An important requirement is to include an essay detailing “How A College Scholarship Will Help Me Positively Impact My Community.” To register and for additional information and complete scholarship rules, visit univisionhoustonbeca.com.
