IRM Center Hosts New Fraternity Chartering Ceremony
The UHD Insurance and Risk Management Center in the College of Business hosted a Chartering Ceremony Friday, March 21, for the Beta Kappa Chapter of the Gamma Iota Sigma (GIS), the collegiate fraternity for insurance risk management and insurance and actuary science.
GIS pursues a mission to promote and encourage student interest in the industry as a profession while encouraging the high moral and scholastic attainments of its members. Since its incorporation in 1965, GIS has chartered 57 chapters across North America and boasts an annual membership of more than 1800 students and an alumni population of over 17,000.
In addition to inductees, College of Business Dean Michael Fields, as well as IRM Center Director Wendy Braniff were in attendance.
