Dean - University College; Dr. Bill Waller, Associate Dean - University College; Dr. Gene Preuss, Special Assistant to the President; UHD President Dr. Bill Flores

UHD recently received a generous gift from the International Association of Administrative Professionals - Houston Chapter (IAAP-Houston) to create a scholarship for students who have an interest in administrative careers and are enrolled in the University's Applied Administration or Interdisciplinary Studies programs.

Lillian Mayo, President of IAAP-Houston, and Kendra Adams, the chapter's Treasurer, attended a reception at UHD during which the chapter was recognized by President Bill Flores and by representatives of University College, Dean Chris Birchak, Associate Dean Bill Waller and Assistant Dean Charlie Finch.

This gift will create the International Association of Administrative Professionals - Houston Chapter Scholarship starting in the 2015-16 academic year. Because the gift will be endowed, an investment fund will be created, allowing the earnings to fund a $1000 annual scholarship in perpetuity.

Partnerships with the Houston professional community help connect UHD students with the skills and resources to make their major opportunities come to life. UHD is extremely grateful to IAAP-Houston for this outstanding gift.
