Get Social, Gators! Become a UHD Influencer for a Chance at Prizes

Now is the time for Gators to do what they do best - take to social media to talk about what matters. Thus, University of Houston-Downtown wants to remind faculty and staff about the UHD Influencers program that makes it easy to share the latest university news and information like blog posts, events, contests, and more using social networks like Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter. To provide an incentive for students to join, UHD has partnered with Social Toaster so that students can make their social network channels count toward a chance to earn prizes.

To get started, click on the Facebook, Twitter or Instagram icon on the sign-up page, and the guide will lead students through the rest of the steps. Not all social platforms are required to participate, but the more social networks faculty and staff use as a UHD Influencer, the higher the likelihood of earning points.

Those who sign up will receive an email when UHD has new and exciting content to share. Each email contains a status update and link to the content. Once they press the click to share button, the status update will automatically post to the social networks selected.

UHD Influencers can earn points by sharing content and generating traffic. Participants may earn points for every person they sign up using a personal link as well as for every click, repost and like.

Faculty and staff who generate enough points will be entered into a drawing for prizes. Every month, for every 100 points a UHD Influencer earns, they will be awarded with one entry into a chance to win a Gator Prize Pack valued at $30. Five winners will be drawn randomly from this group. UHD staff will coordinate delivery of the prizes.
