Gallery Opens Exciting New Exhibit Thursday

The O'Kane Gallery is slated to host a new, exciting exhibition, "Ubiquity" by Barbara Benish, from Oct. 20 to Dec. 8.

The Gallery officials said, "Ubiquity suggests the ephemerality of water through video imagery in direct opposition with the lasting presence of human manufactured items... [like] a tower of plastic chairs."

Benish, from the Czech Republic, was a participant in the 49th Venice Biennale, a Fulbright Scholar, and an upcoming 2012 Artist-in-Residence at La Fragua, Spain. An artist's reception will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, at the Gallery.
