From the Provost: Fall Planning 2020

Dear UHD Faculty,

I hope that this email finds each of you doing well, staying healthy, and enjoying the summer. Although there are many questions that still must be answered, the process of planning the “post-COVID” academic programming for the fall semester has commenced in earnest across all academic units, student affairs, and enrollment management. In a meeting held earlier today with deans, chairs, FSEC, and leaders across ASA, the basic framework for our academic programming was shared and discussed. The PowerPoint presentation from today’s meeting can be found online if you would like to see it.

Campus will be open this fall, but it will be a fall semester unlike any we have experienced before, with increased online offerings and a variety of modified face-to-face and hybrid options for students when needed and appropriate. Student services and activities will operate both remotely and in limited and modified F2F capacities.

Deans and chairs across campus will be reaching out to each of you in the coming days to work on rebuilding the fall schedule. Thank you in advance for your flexibility and your understanding during these challenging times. I encourage anyone who has a question to reach out to your chair, your dean, and/or my office. We will do everything we can to help.

Although it will be a fall unlike any other, we can work together to make sure that our students receive high-quality instruction and support in every class they take, and we can provide a campus experience that is compelling and valuable, whether our students are physically on campus or not.

Thank you for all that you are doing for our students and our UHD community.

Respectfully,

Eric
