This weekend, a large portion of Interstate 45 including the Pierce Elevated will be closed as the West Dallas Bridge is set to be demolished and rebuilt. Drivers may expect congestion travelling to the University of Houston-Downtown or the downtown area.

The closure will extend from I-45 at 288 to I-45 at I-10. This stretch of the freeway will be closed from 9 p.m., Friday, Nov. 4 to 5 a.m., Monday, Nov. 7. Future closings will take place at the same times on the following dates:

• Nov. 18 - 21
• Dec. 2 - 5
• Dec. 9 - 12
