Four UHD Students Named Ion Ambassadors

Four UHD students have been selected as ambassadors for The Ion Academic Network and Student Ambassador Program. The Program is part of Houston’s Ion Project, which seeks to foster connections among community and academic partners, corporate innovators, and entrepreneurs.

Aimee Murillo, Gavin Griggs, Mahalia Ogude, and Samer Rabah were chosen to work alongside members of The Ion team and other students to help strengthen the academic programming for higher education students.

These student ambassadors will meet monthly to collaborate on upcoming programming and explore ways to increase student engagement. The participants will also help create a biannual event for local students in higher education while gaining access to workforce development training and internship opportunities through Ampersand and The Ion.

The intent of the program is to create a unique opportunity for student ambassadors to develop a deep understanding of Houston’s innovation district, its stakeholders, partners, and goals as a prophetic city and urban environment.
