Fortunato Lectures on Pope John Paul II at St. Thomas U

UHD's Paul Fortunato, associate professor, will present a free lecture, "Iconic and Artistic Representation in John Paul II's Plays," at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, in the Ahern Room at the University of St. Thomas.

Fortunato will discuss how John Paul's artistic and theological works have been shaped by Eastern Christian concepts of the role of the religious icon. He will also examine John Paul's playwriting as it focused on human consciousness and explored meaning as objects.

The lecture is sponsored by The John Paul II Forum, whichaims to promote the understanding of the thought of Pope John Paul II and to develop his legacy. For more information on the JP2 Forum visit www.jp2forum.org.
