First Gator Leadership Academy Draws Over 100 Students

The first annual Gator Leadership Academy kicked off Thursday, Feb. 27, with over 100 UHD students seeking opportunities for leadership development.

The Gator Leadership Academy is a collaboration between the Office of Student Activities and the STAR Program (Student Transition And Retention). A key goal of this initiative is to equip participants with leadership knowledge, skills and a basic understanding of how to create positive sustainable change in the UHD community and beyond. Participants will leave the academy with the confidence to springboard into various leadership opportunities and further develop their leadership capacity.

Spencer McGuire, coordinator of the STAR Program said, "We're excited students are eager to be leaders on campus and look forward to establishing more opportunities for all students to participate in a series of leadership opportunities."
