Film About Undocumented Students Plays March 21
The Cultural Enrichment Center is hosting a film screening of a unique new movie "Admissions," at 2:30 p.m. March 21 in the Auditorium.
This film, by Chloe Smolarski and Tasha Darbes, details the psychological effects of being an undocumented student.
Cara Murray, assistant professor of English, said, "I selected the film for personal reasons. I often teach undocumented students and I realize how difficult it is to be so talented and hard working and then have all opportunities shut down for you once you graduate college."
The film was voted Best Film by the American Education Research Association and was selected to play at the Oaxaca FilmFest, the Boston Latino Film Festival and the New Filmmakers Festival in New York.
