The University of Houston-Downtown kicks off its first homecoming celebration this week, and the homecoming committee is looking for teams to participate in the tailgating celebration and cook-off competition Saturday.

Faculty and staff are encouraged to form teams to serve food and drinks as well compete in the "Tail-Gatoring" activities from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 25. The tailgate event will precede two basketball games against Lone Star College-North Harris in the Student Life Center.

Interested participants should register online no later than 5 p.m. on Oct. 21 to secure a tailgate space.

In addition to the tailgate and sporting events, UHD will also welcome the Houston community to an Open House and Fall Family Festival on Saturday, with hundreds of expected guests on campus.
