The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs would like to congratulate the following faculty members who recently have been awarded grant funding for research and academic projects.

Mark Cervenka, associate professor and director of the O'Kane Gallery, was awarded $10,000 from Houston Arts Alliance for the project entitled "Voice in Concert: In the Spirit of Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz."

Associate professor of communication Windy Lawrence received $15,000 from the Kettering Foundation to plan and host community forums during Houston's Citizenship Month.

Gaby Hernandez, assistant professor of Arts & Humanities will use a $3,000 grant from Graphic Design Research Initiative to support a project focused on re-branding the Association for Tropical Biology and Conservation.
