Started in 2019 and led by veteran Houston musician and UHD Assistant Director of Student Activities Jose Vazquez, Mariachi Los Caimanes has received wide acclaim and performed at a variety of events across the city.

“Playing for the Dynamo is a wonderful opportunity to showcase our talented mariachi in front of what is expected to be a sold-out stadium, as Gareth Bale and Carlos Vela from LAFC come into town to play against Hector Herrera and the Houston Dynamo,” said Vazquez.  “Our mariachi has been hard at work this year. Partnering with the Houston Dynamo allows us to increase the visibility of UHD and is in line with our vision of becoming an anchor institution for Houston.”

Mariachi Los Caimanes includes students from all majors. This is their first stadium performance—come out to the stadium and cheer them on!
