Delphians Award Scholarships to Urban Education Department and Students
The Houston Assembly of Delphian Chapters recently awarded scholarship funds to both the Department of Urban Education and two urban education students, Liliana Valdez and Brittany Goff.
The Department of Urban Education will use the funds to purchase Texas Higher Education Assessment Test study materials to assist prospective students in gaining entry to the UHD teacher preparation program.
Valdez, a junior in the EC-6 Bilingual teacher preparation program, won a Delphian New Scholar scholarship which will cover the tuition for her senior year. Goff, a May 2014 graduate of the 4-8 Generalist teacher preparation program, received a Graduating Scholar scholarship which also covered the tuition costs for her senior year. In addition, Goff won a second award for having the highest GPA of the graduating Delphian Scholars.
The Houston Assembly of Delphian Chapters is an organization of women dedicated to intellectual enrichment, social enhancement and philanthropic endeavor.
