Dean of Students Sara Jahansouz to Join Delta Upsilon International Fraternity as Director

UHD dean of students Sara Jahansouz,Ph.D., will soon leave the University to accept a new position as a director for Delta Upsilon Fraternity.

During her tenure at UHD, she has played an instrumental role in initiating important leadership opportunities for undergraduates. Among these is the Gator Leadership Academy and LeaderShape.

The Gator Leadership Academy a collaboration between the Office of Student Activities and the STAR Program (Student Transition and Retention), during its first year provided leadership development to more than 100 UHD students to create positive sustainable change in the UHD community and beyond.

The national LeaderShape program is a six-day workshop of dialogue and interactive self-discovery for students, which challenges students to lead with integrity and is intended to produce a breakthrough in the leadership capacity of participants.

In addition, Jahansouz initiated the Dialogue with the Dean series, inviting students to bring their ideas and concerns to her on a regular basis in a one-on-one format. These sessions helped to establish an ongoing dialogue between undergraduates and administration.

"I'd like to thank Dr. Jahansouz for her contributions to UHD -both to students and the University as a whole - during her time as dean of students," said Provost Ed Hugetz. "I know the University faculty and staff will me in congratulating her on her new role with Delta Upsilon International Fraternity and wishing her well."
