In honor of Citizenship Month in Houston 2015, Houston children, students and artists from the following organizations folded hundreds of origami butterflies:

  • Boding Against Adversity
  • Harmony Schools
  • High School for the Performing and Visual Arts
  • French consulate of Houston
  • Little Wonders Learning Center
  • Lone Star College-Kingwood
  • Raindrop Foundation
  • Reagan High School of Houston
  • Russian School of Houston
  • Taiwanese Heritage Society of Houston

This special exhibit, on view at the City Hall Tunnel Art Space, is sponsored by the Mayor's Office of Cultural Affairs, Texan-French Alliance for the Arts and the University of Houston-Downtown. The exhibit will remain on display throughout the month of November.

The Citizenship Month Butterfly Project is a collaborative expression of unity, peace, tolerance, respect, love, hope and transformation created by schools and organizations throughout Houston. The project celebrates the many social and economic contributions and accomplishments of all people who call Houston home.
