Chemistry Society Performs Magic Show for Elementary School

UHD Chemistry Society, formerly the Chem Club, recently performed a chemistry magic show for Family Science Night at Victoria Walker Elementary School in Baytown's Goose Creek Consolidated Independent School District.

Four UHD chemistry students explained advanced concepts like exothermic reactions, heat capacity and state changes through setting dollar bills on fire, popping balloons, exploding gummy bears and creating elephant's toothpaste.

The team showed the elementary students that science can be fun and enjoyable for everyone.
