Center for Public Deliberation to Host Forum on Democracy's Challenge

Tired of small talk? How about some big talk over breakfast and coffee? The University of Houston-Downtown (UHD) Center for Public Deliberation (CPD) invites you to attend its next forum, Democracy's Challenge: Reclaiming the Public's Role, Wednesday, April 6, 2016, in the Special Events Room (A300), from 9:30 to 11:45 a.m.

Participants will discuss and deliberate strategies aimed at helping more in our community prosper. Broad community participation is encouraged, and the center requests attendees come prepared for a lively discussion.

The event is open to the public and is sponsored by the American Democracy Project, LISC Greater Houston, Lone Star College, the National Issues Forums Institute and the Kettering Foundation, along with the UHD Student Government Association; Center for Community Engagement & Service Learning; Center for Critical Race Studies, Institute for Business, Ethics, and Public Issues; and the High-Impact Practices (HIPs) Subcommittee of the Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence.
