Celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day With GatorServe

Each year, UHD’s Center for Community Engagement & Service Learning organizes GatorServe events for the National Days of Service in remembrance of 9/11 and Martin Luther King Jr.

On Saturday, Jan. 13, 2024, GatorServe will gather to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. by working to clean up and restore Houston’s historic Moody Park.

Volunteers should register online in advance, then meet at the Moody Park Community Center, located at 3725 Fulton St., Houston, 77009, between 7:45 and 8 a.m on Jan. 13.

T-shirts, tools/supplies/instructions to complete the projects, and premium box lunches to go will be provided to volunteers. Come prepared to work and get dirty!

Reminder: Campus is closed Monday, Jan. 15, in honor of Martin Luther King Jr.
