Career Center, Library Collaborate to Offer Interview Accessories for Loan to Students

The Career Development Center and the W.I. Dykes Library recently announced the launch of their new "Tights and Tiebrary" program. This collaborative initiative will support students by loaning them ties, tights, scarves and necklaces for interviews, networking events and other career-related activities during the spring graduation season. The Tights and Tiebrary will not only provide students with accessories to give them a professional edge, but also expose them to the resources and counsel available at the Career Development Center and to the professional development materials located in the W.I. Dykes Library.

Faculty and staff can support this program by donating gently used or new ties, scarves and necklaces, and unopened tights/pantyhose. These items can be dropped off at the Career Development Center, S402, through March 27.

Students must attend an advising appointment or workshop with a career counselor or check out a career-related resource from the W.I. Dykes Library to qualify for the lending program. Upon completion of one of these requirements, a career counselor or librarian will give a student a "Tiebrary" coupon good for borrowing a tie, scarf, necklace or tights from the Career Development Center.

This spring, the Tights and Tiebrary will be open April 6 through May 23. Please encourage our students to take advantage of this unique opportunity.

Any questions can be addressed to Maggie Mahoney or Bethany Tschaepe.
