Auxiliary Services Announces Spring Break Hours and Closures

The University of Houston-Downtown (UHD) Auxiliary Services has announced the upcoming closures, hours and maintenance schedule in and around campus:

Parking & Transportation Services

  • UHD Lot B and Bayou Lot Closure
    • Over the coming Spring Break, UHD Facilities Management will be grading and re-striping both Lot B and the Bayou Lot. (See Map) This work will require that the lots be closed from Friday, March 15th through Sunday, March 17.
       
  • Relocation of UHD Flag Poles
    • Facilities Management will be relocating the UHD flag poles that are currently located west of the Student Life Center. This work will require the lane leading to the Faculty/Staff and Visitor Parking to be closed Saturday and Sunday, March 16 and 17.
       
  • Sciences and Technology Building Construction
    • Vaughn Construction, general contractor for the UHD Sciences and Technology Building, will begin the landscaping phase of the building construction project. This work will require:
      • Relocating of the construction fence line further west of the construction site absorbing a portion of the Bayou Lot.
      • A new pedestrian pathway leading from the Bayou Lot to the Hike and Bike Trail will be installed. Signage directing pedestrian traffic to the new pathway will be placed in the Bayou Lot.
      • The duration of the project will be from Monday, March 11 through Friday, May 10.
         
  • Staff Access to Girard Garage P3 – “Faculty-nested” Area
    • During Spring Break, beginning, Monday, March 11 through Friday, March 15, the gate arms at the P3 Girard Street Garage (faculty-nested area) will be raised to utilize available parking spaces. Staff will have access to all parking spaces including perimeter parking spaces.
    • Faculty coming to campus during the week of spring break may park in Visitor Parking. Faculty garage-permit access cards will be programmed to access Visitor Parking.
    • Faculty-only parking access on Girard P3 will go back into effect on Monday, March 18.
    • To accommodate overflow parking, gate arms in the Vine Street Garage will be raised.

UHD Bookstore Closure – Inventory

Please note that the University of Houston–Downtown Bookstore will be closed Friday, March 8 to conduct inventory.

The UHD Bookstore will resume normal Saturday operating hours on Saturday, March 9 from 9 a.m. to noon.

Auxiliary Services Hours of Operation (March 11 - 15)

UHD Bookstore: Monday – Thursday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Friday – 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

UHD Parking: Monday – Friday, 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.

UHD Dining Services: Monday - Friday

  • Starbucks – 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Burger713 – 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • 2Mato Pizzeria, Chick Fil A, Subway, 40,000 Windows Café, Shea Street Café and Sushi will be closed
