UHD in the World Series Spirit as Astros Look to "Take It Back"

Summary

By Mark Kramer

The University of Houston-Downtown (UHD) is visibly in the Houston Astros spirit.

Houston is one game away from clinching the World Series title after a 7-1 victory over the Washington Nationals Sunday night. The Astros can "take it back" with a win in the friendly confines of Minute Maid Park on Tuesday night in Game 6, which will start at 7:07 p.m. Game 7, if necessary, would be played on Wednesday at 7:08 p.m. at home.

In support of the Astros during the playoffs and as they continue their pursuit of the Major League Championship, you’ll find UHD’s One Main Building lit up in orange and blue in the midst of the nighttime sky in support of the hometown baseball team.

Clearly, the excitement is building on the Astros 2019 theme to “Take It Back.” Students, faculty and staff can be seen throughout campus sporting Astros attire.

The entire series is being broadcast on Fox26Houston.

The Astros advanced to the 2019 World Series by outlasting the New York Yankees in the American League Championship Series. Houston eliminated the Tampa Bay Rays in the first round of the playoffs.

Houston captured the World Series title in 2017 as the Astros defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers in seven games. The Astros advanced by defeating the Boston Red Sox in the American League Division Series and clinched the division title over the Yankees.
