Appointment of Adolfo Santos

During the past year Dr. Adolfo Santos has participated in a special administrative fellowship of the American Council on Education (ACE). He has also served as a protégé of the Millennium Leadership Initiative of the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU). Both are prestigious and highly competitive administrative fellowships. Throughout his fellowship, Santos worked for President Dianne Harrison and Provost Kathryn Cruz-Uribe of Cal State Monterey Bay.

As part of the ACE Fellowship, Dr. Santos has returned to UHD in a one-year administrative assignment to continue his training in higher education leadership. This week, Dr. Santos began his assignment serving as Special Assistant to the President and Chief Liaison Officer. In this capacity, he will help build relationships with members of the local and state political and business communities and develop partnerships that support UHD's Mission and Vision. In addition, Dr. Santos will lay the groundwork for the M.A. in Nonprofit Management and he will also work on special projects assigned by me.

Dr. Santos previously served UHD as Chair of the Department of Social Sciences and has been a professor of political science since 1997. He is an alumnus of UHD, Class of 1990.

Please join me in welcoming Dr. Santos to his new assignment.
