Call for Applicants: UHS Student Regent and THECB Student Representative
The University of Houston-Downtown’s Student Government Association is seeking applicants for two extraordinary opportunities to serve as an advocate for students within the University of Houston System (UHS) and the state of Texas: The 2022-2023 UHS Student Regent and the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) Non-Voting Student Representative. The term for each position begins June 1, 2022 and ends May 31, 2023. Applications are due by Monday, November 29 for full consideration.
2022-2023 UHS Student Regent
The UHS Student Regent has the same power and duties as the members of the UHS Board of Regents, including the right to attend and participate in meetings as a non-voting member.
To apply:
- Complete the Student Regent UH System Application.
- Complete the Texas Governor Appointment Application.
- Submit both applications to the Student Government Association at sga@uhd.edu or drop off in N210; or to the Office of the Dean of Students at uhdstudentaffairs@uhd.edu or drop off in S380.
THECB Student Representative
The THECB student representative has the same rights as a regularly appointed board member with exception to voting on official board business.
To apply:
- Complete the THECB Application.
- Complete the Texas Governor Appointment Application.
- Provide an updated resume.
- Obtain an unofficial transcript.
- Submit both applications to the Student Government Association at sga@uhd.edu or drop off in N210; or to the Office of the Dean of Students at uhdstudentaffairs@uhd.edu or drop off in S380.
