Alumni Volunteers Needed for Inaugural Cap & Gown Reception

UHDAlumniCalling all alumni! We need your help establishing a new graduation tradition. UHD is hosting an inaugural Cap and Gown Reception to honor graduating seniors May 3 and 4 and alumni are needed to serve as hosts, assist with registration and other similar duties.

During the reception, seniors will be inducted as alumni, learn about becoming involved former students, receive information about commencement, pick up their caps and gowns, and enjoy light refreshments.

There will be two receptions to accommodate the 1,000 seniors expected to graduate this spring. The first will be held from 6-9 p.m. Friday, May 3, to honor graduates from the College of Sciences and Technology, University College and the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. The second reception will be held from 4-7 p.m. Saturday, May 4, for students from the College of Public Service and the College of Business. About 30 alumni are needed at each reception, which will begin in the Coffee House, move to the Auditorium, and end in A300, the Academic Building.

For additional information on the receptions or other upcoming alumni opportunities, contact Jaha Williams at 713-221-8184 or williamsjah@uhd.edu.
