African-American Read-In Celebrates Great Writers

The UHD Departments of English and Urban Education are hosting an African-American Read-In from 2 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, in the Cullen Robertson Auditorium in honor of Black History Month.

The event is sponsored by the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) and will celebrate the work of great African-American authors, poets, playwrights, musicians, essayists and historians. Students will read the works of Maya Angelou, Langston Hughes, Countee Cullen, Gwendolyn Brooke, Natasha Trethewey and more.
