A Friendly Reminder: Don't Forget Your Face Coverings on Campus

As the spring semester begins online until at least Feb. 1, the UHD Community is reminding students, faculty and staff to wear your face coverings.

The ongoing Cover Your Face campaign is spreading the message that wearing a mask or face covering shows a commitment to staying safe and looking out for the well-being and health of others.

We're trying to normalize wearing a mask, while still keeping our identity,” says Toye Simmons, UHD Director of Marketing in the Office of University Relations. “The primary goal of this campaign is to emphasize that you can still have the grit, resiliency, independence or anything you choose, while continuing to remain safe.”

Face coverings are required on public areas on campus, which include lobbies, elevators, restrooms, cafeterias, classrooms, hallways, stairwells, common spaces, conference rooms, the library and break rooms. Face masks should be worn in indoor public areas, even if you are by yourself, or any outdoor space where six feet of physical distancing is difficult to be reliably maintained.
