The University of Houston-Downtown will confer more than 1,400 degrees during two ceremonies in May.
On May 18, the University will host the Marilyn Davies College of Business Graduate Programs Commencement in its Wilhelmina Cullen Robertson Auditorium (A350 in the Academic Building). Ceremonies begin at 7 p.m. and will feature guest speaker Khahlia Guillory, philanthropist and filmmaker. The ceremony’s student speaker is Jaccmie Turcios, who is graduating with a Master of Business Administration.
UHD’s 64th Commencement Ceremony will take place at 11 a.m., on Saturday, May 26 at Minute Maid Park (501 Crawford St.). The event will celebrate the accomplishments of bachelor’s and master’s recipients from the UHD’s five colleges – Humanities & Social Sciences, Sciences & Technology, Marilyn Davies College of Business, College of Public Service, and University College. Kent Hance, chancellor emeritus of the Texas Tech University System, will serve as the event’s distinguished speaker. Jim Crawford, executive director of Technology Services at Lone Star College-Montgomery, will serve as the student speaker. Crawford is earning his Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences during this ceremony.
UHD President, Dr. Juan Sánchez Muñoz will preside over both ceremonies.
