After a long academic year, which included Hurricane Harvey and its aftermath, it is time once again for University of Houston-Downtown (UHD) faculty to recognize the Gator Grit in our student body. Each year, students who have shown outstanding academic performance and distinguished themselves among their peers as leaders, trailblazers and high-achievers are recognized at the annual Academic Awards.

Students who have excelled in their courses, taken leadership roles in extracurricular activities and exhibited effort, commitment and a dedication to excellence will be recognized in a procession specific to the college of their major. This two-day event will be held on May 1 and 2. Both days will begin with a reception at 5 p.m. followed by the award ceremonies at 6 p.m.
