The University of Houston-Downtown Baseball Club team hosted its first-ever “Signing Day 2018.” The event officially recognized more than 40 verbal commitments from high school seniors and junior college students from around Houston and Texas who have committed to further their education at the University of Houston-Downtown, and to compete on the 2018-2019 baseball club team. This is the first recruiting class for the team’s new head coach Nick Strong.
More than 150 people were present attended the event in support of the future of UHD Baseball, including opening remarks from club president Roberto Alvarado; vice president Marcus Moore; club adviser Justin Sarabia; and head coach Strong.
The Baseball Club will begin tryouts in August for the fall team and prepare to compete in the National Club Baseball Association starting in January 2019. Congratulations to the following students on committing to further their education at UHD and to play on the UHD Baseball Club team next season!
