Oscar-Winning Movie to be Screened on North Deck

Who doesn’t love a good movie night? The University of Houston- Downtown’s (UHD) Cultural Enrichment Center and the Department of English have partnered once again to screen a movie for the campus community. At 8 p.m., April 26, the Oscar-winning movie “Get Out” will be shown on the North Deck, preceded by opening remarks from Dr. Chuck Jackson’s Race, Ethnicity, and US Film class. The screening is free and open to the public.

“Get Out” is an American horror film written and directed by Jordan Peele. It tells the story of a black man who uncovers a disturbing family secret during a trip to his white girlfriend’s family home.

Guests are invited to bring blankets and chairs. A discussion will follow the movie.
