The Texas Department of Transportation has announced that beginning Saturday, Oct. 14—from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m.—a traffic switch will be performed on IH-45 at IH-10. Please see the following information regarding this traffic switch, for closures and detours:

IH-45 Northbound Main lanes between IH-10 and Quitman Street (TOTAL CLOSURE)

Detour: Follow IH-10 Westbound to IH-610 North Loop Eastbound Connector;

Follow the IH-610 North Loop Eastbound to IH-45 Northbound.

IH-10 Westbound Direct Connector to IH-45 Northbound (TOTAL CLOSURE)

Detour: Follow IH-10 Westbound to IH-69 Northbound; Follow IH-69 Northbound to the IH-610 North Loop Westbound; Follow the IH-610 North Loop Westbound to IH-45 Northbound.

IH-10 Westbound Exit to Taylor Street (TOTAL CLOSURE)

Detour: Follow IH-10 Westbound to the next exit (Heights/Yale Exit); Turn left (South) on Heights; Turn left (East) on the IH-10 Eastbound Frontage Road;

Follow the IH-10 Eastbound Frontage Rd to Taylor Street.

Travis Street Northbound Entrance to IH-45 Northbound (TOTAL CLOSURE)

Detour: Turn Left (West) onto Commerce; Turn Left (South) onto Milam; Turn Right (West) onto Walker; Follow Walker to the IH-45 Northbound Entrance Ramp.

Off-duty police officers will be on site to assist with traffic control as needed.
