Preparing for Life Beyond UHD

Career planning is a complex process that may require some assistance. As graduates of the University of Houston-Downtown (UHD), Gator alumni have unlimited access to the UHD Career Development Center’s free services and resources.

“The most commonly sought services from alumni are resume reviews, career advising, mock interviews and job search assistance. The good news is that UHD provides these services —and then some,” said Liza Alonzo, director of Alumni Relations.

The Center, located in the One Main Building, S402, offers all University students and alumni access to a campus-wide network—including personalized career counseling, employer contacts, job and career fairs, alumni connections, resume preparation, interview assistance networking advice and more. Additionally, if you’re seeking employees—current students or recent graduates—consider recruiting at UHD. The Career Development Center offers resources and opportunities to get involved on-campus. Employers can coordinate with the Center or post a job or internship opportunity for students and alumni at UHD’s online job database, JobsforGators.

If you would like to meet for a one-on-one appointment with a UHD career counselor, contact the UHD Career Development Center at 713-221-8980. Appointments must be scheduled one week in advance.
