UHD Library Celebrates with 1980s Flashback Exhibit

The W.I. Dykes Library is celebrating the 1980s with a flashback exhibit, now through Sept. 1. The exhibition is showcasing University of Houston-Downtown (UHD) student life in 1987—from archival materials (course catalogs, commencement programs, student newspapers) to theater production stills to photos of UHD students and campus life.

Additionally, memorabilia items, such as popular movies, books and an original Nintendo Entertainment System with the top 1980s games.

"We're really excited to offer new and returning students a chance to see that they are the continuation of a legacy of hardworking and driven students here at UHD," said Melissa Torres, University archivist at W.I. Dykes Library.
