In December 2016, University of Houston-Downtown (UHD) welcomed 10 new employees to the Gator family with GatorConnect, a four-month mentorship program established to help new employees transition smoothly into their new positions.
Because starting a new job is one of life’s big stressors—learning your coworkers’ names, navigating a unfamiliar workplace, and settling into your new responsibilities—UHD assigns each new employee a mentor from a different department to help smooth the path.
At the beginning of the program, Employment Services and Operations (ESO) sponsors a special red carpet mixer for mentors and new Gators.
The next GatorConnect mixer/mentorship launch will be from 2-3 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 23.
