UHD Communication Studies to Host Public Speaking Competition

On Monday, Nov. 14, the University of Houston-Downtown (UHD) Department of Communication Studies will host a Public Speaking Competition. The theme of the competition is "My Houston Hero," and students are being asked to present a five minute speech on a local hero, which may encompass a famous person, family member or themselves. The top three winners will receive monetary prizes and bragging rights.

The event will be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the Girard Street Build (GSB) Milam/Travis room, and is open to all students, in any major.

If students are interested in competing, please contact Burton French, UHD lecturer of arts and humanities.
