VOA News: UHD Professor Peter Li is quoted regarding urban animal management in the article, "Chinese Animal Lovers Oppose Shanghai Hosting World Dog Show." Li is a professor of East Asian politics at the University of Houston-Downtown (UHD) and a China expert at Humane Society International.
ABC13: Professor Gene Preuss was interviewed by KTRK-ABC13's "Viva Houston" to discuss the controversy surrounding a proposed Mexican heritage textbook many consider racist and inaccurate. Gene Preuss is a history professor at UHD.
KHOU, KPRC: Both news stations interviewed UHD professor Floyd Newsum to talk about his Smithsonian art piece, "After the storm CNN," which will be on permanent display at the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture. The museum opens to the public this weekend. Newsum has taught at UHD for 40 years — and counting.
