UHD Refines Website

websiteLast week, visitors to the University of Houston-Downtown (UHD) website may have noticed a few subtle changes. On July 11, typefaces on the website were updated from serif to sans-serif fonts to improve readability. For more information about typefaces, read the article titled Serif vs. Sans, which provides a casual overview of why sans-serif fonts are better suited for reading on the web.

This change is one of several implemented since April 2016 with a goal of simplifying the online experience for prospective students and increasing visibility of UHD community news and events. In addition to the font change, links have been added for prospective students to quickly request information about UHD, and colors and layouts have been refined to improve usability.

More changes will be introduced August 17 to further improve the user experience. Look for a more concise easy-to-read website header containing clear calls to action for prospective students, a prominent hero image that better promotes the University, and more featured news articles.

While some links on the University home page will be moved to other places on the page, no links will be removed. For more information or to share feedback, please contact University Relations.
