Dean Fulton Elected NSGT Trustee

Dean DoVeanna FultonDoVeanna Fulton, Ph.D., dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, was recently elected a trustee for the National Society for the Gifted & Talented (NSGT).

The mission of the NSGT is to advance the development of gifted, talented, and high potential youth, in the United States and abroad, through opportunities, advocacy, and exemplary programs, and practices.

Fulton is working with NSGT to bring their successful Summer Institute for the Gifted (SIG) to Houston. SIG offers summer enrichment camps that help students strengthen current skills and interests, explore new subject areas and interact with other kids who love learning.

Fulton is excited about the opportunity, saying. "My goal is to increase access to SIG so that talented students in the Greater Houston Area experience the benefits of and are prepared for rigorous academics and intellectual innovations.".

Fulton's term expires in December 2018. For more information about NSGT, visit NSGT.
